Bill May – Vice President, Production Of The Dallas Morning News

William (Bill) H. May, Jr. is Vice President / Production for The Dallas Morning News.  Bill is responsible for all printing operations at the Plano, Texas facility, as well Commercial printing in and around Dallas, Texas, and  Design Mail Inc. operations in Dallas, Texas, Las Vegas, Nevada,  and Phoenix, Arizona.

The Vice President /Production is responsible for the 710,000 square foot production facility in Plano which has seven lines of printing presses, 6 insert machines, two Prim Hall collators, and houses ~300 full time employees.    In addition to printing The Dallas Morning News, the North Plant also produces Investor’s Business Daily, Al Dia, Denton Record Chronicle, Neighbors.go, Daily Racing Form, Briefing, The New York Times, USA Today, and The Wall Street Journal.

Bill returned to The Dallas Morning News in March of 2005 from The Richmond Times-Dispatch, Richmond, Virginia where he was the Production Director for approximately one year. Bill started working for The Dallas Morning News in 1987, and has held key managerial positions in several Production departments.

Bill graduated from Texas A&M University-Commerce with a Bachelor of Science in Printing Management.

Bill received the 2001 “Chairman’s Award” from Belo Corporation.  In 2005, Bill was selected by Presstime Magazine as one of the “Top 20 Under 40” newspaper executives.  In September 2009, Bill was recognized by Editor and Publisher Magazine as a “Production All-Star.” He also serves as a board member for ING, and is a member of the NAA Newsprint Advisory Council.
